Mr. Ng Kar Foo is a Registered Dietitian practising more than a decade and has served many populations in various settings such as state general hospitals, private medical centres, and corporate industries. Currently he devotes his time to support patients living with cancer at Onco Life Centre and serves as the Unit Head of Dietetics & Food Services at a local private medical centre.
His expertise lies in integrating personalized nutritional care within oncology, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize the well-being of patients living with cancer. Whether it is managing treatment-related side effects, supporting immune function, or enhancing recovery through nutrition, his goal is to help patients feel empowered and supported throughout their journey.
In addition to nutrition support through the oral route, he is well-versed in providing specialized nutrition through feeding tubes (enteral nutrition) and intravenous nutrition therapy (parenteral nutrition) for patients unable to meet their needs through regular eating.
His passion about helping people with cancer rebuild a positive relationship with food, especially when treatment impacts their ability to enjoy eating, is evidenced. By providing practical advice and emotional support, he aims to make eating a nourishing and enjoyable experience again, fostering a sense of normalcy and control during challenging times.
He is also committed to raising awareness about the role of nutrition in cancer prevention and survivorship, regularly engaging in community outreach and education to debunk nutrition-related myths and share practical insights. As a dietitian, he firmly believes that nutrition plays a vital role in improving treatment outcomes and enhancing overall quality of life for patients living with cancer.
